Dr. Wei Ma joined the faculty at Northland Pioneer College (NPC) in 2010. As Faculty in Educational Technology, his job entails:
  • teaching online, hybrid and standalone courses - EDU 286: Educational Technology, CIS 150: Digital Culture, EDU 275: Instructional Skills, EDU 199: ISW Facilitator Training, ICT 095: Skills for Online Learning, ICT 096: Teaching Online Learning, KDC 099X: Chinese Language and Culture;
  • coordinating the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) program;
  • leading the college’s online course evaluation using Quality Matters Rubric;
  • integrating technologies into the academic processes by facilitating the development of procedures, academic resources, faculty training and the technical infrastructure;
  • designing, developing, and maintaining an electronic resource center which addresses the theory and practice of effective distance pedagogy and instructional design;
  • administering NPC’s Moodle Learning Mangement System and Academic Curriculum and Review System (ACRES);
  • administering the online student readiness program (ICT); and
  • collaboratively working with staff and faculty to ensure that technology-based learning environments maintain compliance with Section 508 of ADA and other accessibility standards.
  • taking overall responsibility for NPC’s 2016-2017 faculty technology literacy strategic priorities
